On arriving inside St Andrews Church, I pondered what to draw. It took awhile for anything to capture my imagination until I noticed a tranquil figure in a stained glass panel behind the church organ.
Tucked out of sight, the haloed woman appeared luminous and serene, with light radiating through the stained glass. I tried to replicate that glowing colour and the figure's bold black outlines with marker pens and completed this sketch quite quickly.
The panel itself is inscribed with the words Labour of Love & Charity and is dedicated to the Glory of God and in loving memory of Emily Jane Austin.
