Day trip into the eastern Taranaki farmland

A trip into the farming area of Tarata and Purangi , inland  between Waitara and Inglewood , Taranaki NZ. This follows the Waitara river and included large stands of native bush , river flats and hill country. I came across a muster of sheep, the farmer slowed the droving to allow time for photos and quick roadside sketches. He was wondering what I was doing this far from town in my MX5 sportscar !  .  The old shed was dark with green covering the original red-shed paint work. Still looked great.  MLB

Clarks Beach, Manukau Harbour, Auckland district.

One of our sketchers Eileen recently moved away, so I went up to visit her for the weekend.

We went out Saturday sketching as we always do and found this lovely beach. I had never been to or heard of it before, and neither had she. It was a lovely spot. A little cool and windy as you would expect at this time of the year, but well worth the effort.

Here is my sketch:

I'm not sure if this was an old jetty, or what it's purpose was, but it was interesting and difficult to sketch.

I also played around with a bit of photography:

Here's a photo of Eileen and I sketching taken by Mark Davey:
